Hey there, I’m Matt!

I’m the Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Constructive. One of the things I’m most passionate about is finding new ways to unite brand strategy and design thinking to create experiences that help make the world a more equitable, enjoyable, and sustainable place.

Q: What's one thing you won't learn from my bio?

My wife Tonya and I have an amazing 16-year-old child, Sam, who is strong, empathetic, smart, and funny. I'm also objective.

Matt sets Constructive’s vision and brings 30 years of experience to help our team and every client better understand the value in their brand and then deliver it to people across the full arc of every experience with it.

 

Often the first person that people reaching out to Constructive meet and an ongoing support throughout their relationships with us, Matt is driven by a deep commitment to understanding each client’s unique situation and investing in their success. He is a thought partner who brings rare perspective rooted in decades of work in brand strategy, branding, UX, content strategy, and messaging—helping teams connect the dots between big picture, strategic ideas and the nuanced details of language, design, and experience that give them life.

 

Before starting Constructive in 2000, Matt worked as a Designer and Art Director for several NY advertising and interactive agencies. He earned his BA from Sarah Lawrence College in Writing & Visual Studies and then conducted post-graduate studies in design and typography at RISD, The School of Visual Arts, and The New School. He volunteered for The Communications Network, serving on the NY chapter leadership team for 7 years.
