Constructive Wins Silver in the 2022 W3 Awards

We’re so proud to announce that Constructive, American Forests, Child Mind Institute, and the Data Science Institute at Columbia University were named Silver Award winners for the 2022 W3 Awards in General Websites! Awarded in the environmental and sustainability, health, and science categories respectively, we’re thrilled that our collaboration was able to resonate with the W3 awards. Each entry is judged by leading professionals in the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. These judges evaluate all website entries based on creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use.

As a design agency dedicated to the relationship between brand strategy and web design for social impact organizations, Constructive welcomed the opportunity to partner with American Forests, Child Mind Institute, and Columbia University’s Data Science Institute to address their needs in rethinking their brand and transforming their digital experience.

The oldest forest conservation organization in America, American Forests wanted to bring their historic brand to meet the moment and expand a national reforestation movement while leading the DEIG conversation on Tree Equity. Together, we dived into their history, strategic plan and vision for the future to design a bold, new website that tells their story, connects audiences to the issues, programs, and resources, and drives fundraising and volunteering.

A global leader in children’s mental health, The Child Mind Institute delivers care, resources, trainings, and research toward treatments to families, educators, and industry professionals who work tirelessly to transform the lives of children. Together, we created a user experience that addresses the needs of those groups when it comes to accessing care and information as well as engages wider audiences.

Launched in 2012 to advance “Data for Good”, the Data Science Institute at Columbia University offers a unique curriculum across schools, centers, and programs. After a decade of growth, they asked Constructive to design their new home to reflect their reputation for innovation, influence, and impact.

Though all of these organizations serve such different populations, they all work to create a better future for us and everyone who comes after. We’re proud to be able to tangibly aid in their respective missions while expanding our work in sustainability, mental health, and research.
