ELP Launches Website Redesign to Support Global Language Revitalization
Every three months, a language is lost, and nearly half of the world’s 7,000+ languages are endangered. The loss of a language is the loss of centuries of lived experience, stories, humor, and wisdom carried by generations of speakers.
The Endangered Languages Project is working to change that. And we’re proud to unveil the newly redesigned ELP website! As the world’s largest online community focused on language revitalization, ELP equips more than 22,000 members with expertise, resources, training, and mentorship for those working to document, preserve, and revitalize the world’s endangered and at-risk languages.
The new site is designed to foster even stronger collaboration, expand access to tools, and reframe narratives surrounding language loss from one of inevitability to one of empowerment.
Together, we built a digital experience that:
- Strengthens global connections and contributions through a rebuilt language database, resource library, Help Desk, and user-friendly features that enable sharing stories and research.
- Empowers audiences with tools, training, and community support needed to sustain language preservation in the digital age.
- Extends and elevates the ELP brand with a new visual identity that reflects the depth, warmth, and humanity behind this critical work.
We’re honored to support the Endangered Languages Project in its mission to connect and build a world where all languages thrive. Explore the new platform and learn more about our work in education and research.
